A solo project by drummer/composer Michael Baird, with diverse gongs and bells from many countries, put into motion either by striking or shaking - like throwing a pebble into a pond. With an occasional thumb-piano added and on one track a Fender Rhodes. But please, this is no soppy new age stuff - this is modern music, created with technique, touché, touch, intuition, also leading to the discovery of rhythms to be found in the interplay of overtones. Gongs and bells vibrate, tremble, quake, quiver, flutter, flicker, murmer, hum, throb, ding, dong, peal, ping, trill, tinkle, oscillate, ring and shake. Each one a microcosm. Play more than one at the same time and they influence each other, causing reactions of sound that are sometimes unexpected but always true.
